Assistant Quality Manager / Senior Engineer (Manufacturing / 16949)

About the role
Our client is a HK-listed global B2B manufacturing group with over 40 years of industry leadership. Serving as a trusted Tier-1 supplier for top multinational corporations, the group operates a strong international manufacturing network across Hong Kong, Mainland China, Southeast Asia, and overseas markets in the EU and US.
To support their continuous operational excellence and expanding production capacity, they are seeking a hands-on and results-driven Assistant Quality Manager / Senior Quality Engineer to join their Dongguan plant.
Responsibilities
Process & Shop-Floor Quality Control: Oversee whole-process quality for both NPI (New Product Introduction) and Mass Production, ensuring strict quality execution across metal stamping, plastic molding, and assembly lines.
Problem Solving & CAPA Execution: Drive root-cause investigation (5-Why, 8D) for line defects and engineering issues; formulate corrective/preventive action (CAPA) plans to continuously improve yield rates.
Customer Complaints & Technical Liaison: Handle technical feedback and quality issues from overseas corporate clients; formulate professional formal 8D reports and corrective action responses.
Quality Audit & System Compliance: Conduct internal process audits and risk assessments to ensure shop-floor compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001) and specific client technical requirements.
Team Guidance & Cross-Departmental Support: Guide daily activities of QC inspectors/engineers, working closely with Production and Engineering teams to optimize manufacturing workflows.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical disciplines.
Experience: 5–8 years of solid quality/engineering experience in manufacturing environments (candidates with 2+ years in a senior capacity or team lead role will be considered for Assistant Quality Manager).
Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience in metal stamping, plastic molding, mechanical components, or electro-mechanical assembly is essential.
Quality Tools & Systems: Proficient in core Quality Tools (8D, CAPA, FMEA, SPC), with strong knowledge of ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / IATF 16949 systems.
Language & Communication: Excellent command of English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (essential for frequent communication with HK Management, plant teams, and global clients).
Location: Based in Dongguan plant (with occasional regional travel to overseas facilities as needed).
